For example, a communications system can trigger various types of notifications to be sent to onsite and/or offsite personnel when an emergency exit door is opened. Simultaneously, the system can also trigger the surveillance camera in that area to turn on and record the activity. This gives security and administrative staff notification that something out of the ordinary has happened and can review the surveillance footage.

Access control systems can also be enhanced by broadcasting a message when guests open the door to a gym or pool at a hotel. The message is pre-recorded and can inform visitors that there is no lifeguard on duty or where the towels are located. Motion sensors and other devices could also trigger a scheduled announcement informing guests when the gym and pool are getting ready to close.

These use cases, and many more possibilities, are created by integrating with security solutions and provide additional return on your customer's investment.
