SALTO KS cloud-based smart access offers users multiple ways of opening doors, including a digital key via a smartphone and now an Apple Watch. The Apple Watch digital key feature will be available to all SALTO KS users who have an Apple Watch running the latest version of iOS 8.7.0 and a digital key assigned. To use the feature, users will simply need to synchronize their SALTO KS digital key with their Apple Wallet, and then hold the Apple Watch near the lock to gain entry. 

The Apple Watch digital key feature is part of SALTO KS’s ongoing commitment to providing users and system operators with the latest in technology and innovation in smart access solutions. SALTO KS supports a wide range of keyless methods to improve the user experience and safety for any building type and delivers advanced security features on a fully remote, wireless smart access solution. The incidents this past weekend at two Duke Energy substations in Moore County, NC highlights the vulnerabilities that critical infrastructure nationwide face from vandals, thieves and terrorism.

According to the News & Observer, "Widespread power outages caused by vandalism of electrical substations in Moore County continued on Sunday, with electricity shut off to nearly all residences and businesses, and estimates for restoration of power stretching possibly into Thursday, officials say. The outages are the result of intentional damage by firearms to two substations in the county, according to Moore County and Duke Energy officials."
